Leader of national catalytic converter theft ring pleads guilty in Oklahoma

Navin Khanna, a 41-year-old from New Jersey, pleaded guilty in a Tulsa courtroom to leading a national catalytic converter theft ring worth millions.

According to court documents, Khanna and others plotted to buy and transport a large amount of stolen catalytic converters from Oklahoma, Texas and other states to New Jersey. Khanna admitted receiving more than $600 million by reselling those parts.

As part of the plea agreement, Khanna will forfeit nearly $4 million, 11 luxury vehicles, over 200 pallets of catalytic converters and more. This was all seized as law enforcement conducted search warrants at Khanna's properties.
